Introduction
A psychosomatic or bio-psycho-social (BPS) approach enables health care professionals in ObGyn to change perspectives between the bio-medical model and the psychosocial model. Where the bio-medical model focusses on the underlying biological mechanisms of pathology, the psycho-social perspective provides insight in the meaning of complaints and problems. Combined they provide an optimal base for women's health care.
