Some frequently occuring myths about sexuality:
Male sexuality
- all men only want one thing
- men always want sex
- once a man is aroused, he loses his self-control and is no longer responsible for his actions
- when a woman has given a man an erection, she must also see to it he climaxes
- the faster a man reaches orgasm, the more masculine he is
- the taller the man, the bigger the penis
- the bigger the penis, the greater the sexual enjoyment for the woman
- sex is spoiled by talking about it
- if a man loses his erection, it is because he does not find his partner attractive
- a man should know how to please any woman
- sex is only good if the partners both reach orgasm at the same time
Female sexuality
- a woman can lose all control when she has an orgasm
- if a woman does not have orgasms she is frigid
- if a man does not satisfy the woman sexually, she will look for sexual pleasure elsewhere
- a woman should not show what she would like; for example, she shouldn’t complain if foreplay is too short
- a woman should never admit that she knows anything about sex
- the woman determines how far the lovemaking progresses and is responsible for contraception
- defloration always involves a lot of pain and bleeding
- when a woman says ‘no’, she often means ‘yes’
- sex should always be natural and spontaneous
- when people love each other, they instinctively know what the other person is thinking or wants .
