1.3 Obstetrics
Within the cluster of Obstetrics a number of typical patient problems can be identified, such as:
- A pregnant woman afraid of to deliver vaginally (Fear of childbirth)
- A parous woman afraid of becoming pregnant again (PTSS following childbirth)
- A depressed young mother (Depression in pregnancy and puerperium)
- A young mother hearing voices who tell her to harm the baby. (Bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and psychosis in pregnancy and puerperium)
- “And what if our baby would have trisomy 21?” (Counseling in prenatal diagnosis)
- Parents with empty arms (Guiding the mourning process in stillbirths and pregnancy terminations)
